Design for the arts
In the arts industry, probably more than any other, it is of vital importance to create design work that is engaging and of the highest quality. Artists who put in many hours choosing just the right color or composition for their work deserve to have that work displayed by someone who understands art, attention to detail and quality reproduction. Galleries need an Internet presence which not only showcases the artwork but also promotes the business side of their operation.
Design for business
Good graphic design is about problem solving and image building. Over time, all products and organizations develop personalities just as people do. Positive personalities are often among the most important assets any organization possesses. I will not tell you that good graphic design will turn a negative personality into a positive one... no image can do that. But to not reinforce a positive visual image, or to not strength a weak one, is to leave a positioning vacuum soon filled by a competitor
